We are open 'Special announcement'

Shopping centres are permitted to trade under the Governments advice around organised public gatherings.  We remain fully open and trading normal hours so you can access essential products and services.  Our retailers are working hard to maintain stock levels as best they can.  Some are opening reduced hours to accommodate additional cleaning.  Some might even close temporarily, if they are unable to provide adequate customer service.    This will be acknowledged on our website.  The safety and wellbeing of our shoppers, retailers and staff is our highest priority.


We are undertaking a range of precautionary measures including additional cleaning with a focus on high traffic areas.  We continue to closely monitor the evolving situation and follow the advice of the Government health authorities at this time.

Big W: An update from Big W

The health and safety of our customers and team members is at the heart of everything we do. In light of the heightened level of concern related to Coronavirus (COVID-19) we want to update you on how we continue to maintain the highest level of hygiene for team, customers and their families so we can provide for our communities safely over this uncertain time.

We are continuing to serve the needs of our customers in all BIG W stores and online and have made some changes to how we operate to ensure all stores are using hospital grade cleaning materials and we have implemented routines to:
- Increase cleaning of self check out areas, screens and EFTPOS machines, change rooms and bathrooms
- Hand sanitisers and wipes are readily available for customers and team members across each store
- All team members are required to be healthy and well before starting their shift
- Removal of all product testers from our health & beauty area

We’re monitoring the situation daily and will continue to take guidance from public health authorities. Due to an increase in demand for essential items, we are experiencing some product shortages in-store and online and some delays in processing orders. We are working to have these and other essential products available as quickly as possible.

We would like to thank you, our loyal customers for your ongoing support and to our incredible team for their dedication over this time. Together as a BIG W community, let’s care and show support for one another, as we’re all in this together.

Woolworths: Introducing a dedicated shopping hour for the elderly and people with disability

Woolworths Supermarkets is introducing temporary measures across its stores to help support the shopping needs of the elderly and people with disability in the community.

From tomorrow (Tuesday 17th March) until at least Friday, Woolworths Supermarkets will be opening exclusively for the elderly and those with a disability to shop from 7am to 8am, where permitted*. The move has been prompted by the unprecedented demand in supermarkets over the past week, which has seen many elderly and vulnerable people in the community missing out on vital items they may need when they shop.

Woolworths Supermarkets will open to all customers from 8am. Access to the store prior to this time will require a relevant Government issued concession card*.

  • Dry Pasta - 2 pack limit per shop
  • Flour - 2 pack limit per shop
  • Tissues - 2 pack limit per shop
  • Paper towel, serviettes and wipes - 1 pack limit per shop
  • Toilet paper - 1 pack limit per shop
  • Hand sanitiser - 2 unit limit per shop; and
  • Bulk rice (2kg+) - 1 pack limit per shop.

Woolworths continues to work closely with its suppliers to get even more product into stores and onto the shelves for customers as quickly as possible.

Woolworths encourages customers to continue purchasing only what they need.
